Wow!! Getting summer internship offer from IIT Madras, Mahyco and Mimo Finance

Hi!
I had doubt about my summer internship. My institute is not providing summer internship by its rules and policy. Students are solely responsible for getting summer internship. I sent a lot of email to various companies and organizations and I talked to many of seniors but could not find summer internship. My summer internship is of 8 credits and that is mandatory for all students. I posted cover letter and my cv on various yahoo and google groups but nothing happened any thing.

My institute is only responsible for winter internship and final placement. I tried my best for getting summer internship but no any fruitful result. Some of seniors helped me getting this one but everything went vain.

I got a mail from Prof Parikh(Placement coordinator of my batch) about summer
internship opportunity in Mahyco. One of member of placement committee sent CV of all students who was interested for Mahyco except me. Then placement committee had gone attention on list but he could not find me. Then next day he told me that please send me your biodata details. I sent him biodata. I went home for participating karmkanda of my pujaniya grandmother. Then I got call from my roomate that I got final selection in Mahyco for summer internship. I was very very happy and thought that now I am a lucky person because Mahyco selected two students out of 19 students on the basis of biodata. I confirmed date of joining in Mahyco via sending email to him. This is my first time when I become a lucky person.

Before coming result of Mahyco, I got call from Mimo Finance for confirmation date of joining. But I did not send mail to him. I was waiting for the result of Mahyco.

On 31st March where I found that one letter of E-316(my room number) is shown on hostel website. I went to hostel supervisor and told him about my letter. Then I opened letter and found that I am selected in IIT Madras for summer fellowship programme. I was very surprise and very happy and decided that I will have to join IIT as a summer trainee. I called many friends about decision where to join. All my friends suggested me to join IIT then I set mind that I should go for IIT.

I met with Placement officer regarding the same. But she did not allow me to join IIT. She told me that I will have to join Mahyco other wise I will not be in placement procedure for winter and final placement that means out from placement procedure. I told her that I am loosing brand value of IIT. IIT gave a great opportunity for me. It can not come back in my life. I sent a two page write up regarding my project at IIT. My intended project is selected by IIT. I requested too much but she did not listen to me. I was completely harassed.

Then what can I do now? Some times we loss great things because of certain circumstances. Finally I decided that I have to join Mahyco rather that IIT because this is a matter of career and making good relationship with placement cell.

My grandmother is no more in this world that is also associated with Nine-Square Mandala for livelihood system

I had hectic class schedule on 12th March 2010 at DA-IICT, Gandhinagar. I got up early morning and attend class of Prof. Dumra of Supply Chain Management at 8 o'clock after that I had 2n class of Prof. Girja Sharan of Precision Farming then 3rd class of Prof. Alka Parikh and last class of Prof. Sujatha Krishnamurthy of Agribusiness Management. Class had wind up at 7 PM. I came in canteen and took Samose chart and came in hostel then I got call from my younger brother Sunil Kumar Sahu (he is at New Delhi) and told me that our grandmother passed away. I could not adjust myself on mobile and I forgot every thing momentarily and thought that what will do now. On that day my father was also not present at home. He went his nephew(my father's sister's son) marriage ceremony. On other hand my sister was enjoying her husband's brother marriage ceremony on the same day. How was the critical situation at my home? I called my all relatives to go there as early as possible. I have no uncle in my family. My father is everything in family. I called on my father's mobile but mobile showed switch off. My father got information at 5 AM on 13th March. 

I am very very unfortunate grandson of my Pujayniya grandmother because I did not attend funeral ceremony and could not give lakari/small stick of wood on her funeral pile. I met with her during my semester break(full December) and she told me you people(including my brother) would not be able to Daah Sanskaar of her funeral body but actually similar case would happen. By our community and relatives effort Sanskaar has over successfully on 13th March.

She did a lot for me. I was her best friend upto 10th standard. She regularly cared me at every moment of life even more than my mother. I told everything if I suffering in any difficulties.After 10th standard I shifted to Darbhanga then Patna then Varanasi and lastly at Gandhinagar.

So, I have decided that at least I will have to attend her karmkaand/karmkriyaa according to Hindu Mythology and religion on 21st, 22nd and 23rd March and pray to GOD to give peace of her soul. I took tatkal ticket from Ahmedabad to Delhi and then Delhi to Darbhanga because not straight train from Ahmedabad to Darbhanga on my scheduled day of journey. I will have mid term exam but I will not be able to appear in mid term exam on 25th and 26th March and my course coordinator gave me permission to go home. They will conduct reexamination for me after 27th March.

Therefore this things comes under inner aspect of life i.e non material things of life. According to Rural Livelihood System-a nine-square mandala (RLS Mandala). The Nine-Square Mandala as Heuristic tool in the study of Livelihood system.  There are 9 squares within a square and each square represent one rural livelihood system. There are following 9 rural livelihood system:

1. Individual orientation

2. Inner Human Space

3. Emotional Base

4. Family orientation

5. Knowledge and Activity Base

6. Collective orientation

7. Socio-economic Space

8. Physical Base

9. Family Space

There are two realities in this world:

1. Inner reality like Individual orientation, inner human space and emotional base

2. Outer reality like Collective orientation, Socio-economic space and physical base

Some are in between them like Family orientation, Family space and Knowledge and activity base

Every activities in life there is specific nine-square mandala to explain it. Any body can set this formula and know about his/her livelihood system.

Learning lession from traveling to Anand from Gandhinagar

I went to Anand on 6th March, 2010 for meeting purpose to my friends who are studying in Veterinary college and Agriculture college of Anand Agricultural University and IRMA . After long time I visited this place because of my hectic schedule in DA-IICT. I went to Ahmedabad junction at 3:50 P.M and asked to train inquiry person about train which will be going to Anand. They told me that there is passenger train at 4:45 PM. It was problem for me because I would have to stay 45 minutes at Ahmedabad station and this passenger train will take 2-2:30 hrs to reach at Anand. Then again thought that is there any express and superfast train. I found there was a Ahinsha Express and time was 4:00 PM. I hurried  and took ticket and  caught train. After that there was huge crowd in general boggy so I stand over 1 hr. at door of that boggy. I reached IRMA canteen then my friend Govind sought Sahuuuuu... I identified him but I did not know, from which direction sound came. I searched him in TV room. I shake hands with each other. Just immediately Ravish called me hey! Sahu jee come here? I mate with both of my friend and discuss about course and study at IRMA and at DA-IICT. They were in very hectic schedule and he had a certain meeting with his classmates. He told me that if single class is missed then 0.1 grade will be deducted. So can you think about study system at IRMA? That is really a tough job for IRMA students to attend all class. We all were very sad because we did not attended convocation at BHU. When I was discussing with Ravish then he sent massege to one of my batchmate Dayanand (Previously I was not talking with him at BHU because certain incidence with him) and told that come in my room quickly , one of BHU friends came in my room and waiting for you. Dayanand came in Ravish room and I mate by shaking hand to each other. At that time I forgot past and switch to nice feeling to meet with Dayanand. Due to some reason Dayanand could not give more time to talk each other because he was very busy in college activity. I had taken some soft copy of Management Information Sytem (MIS) and Marketing from Ravish. I also discussed about Database Management System(DBMS) and other project.

One of my supersenior (Mr. Ashutosh Bhaiya) who got campus placement in SKS Microfinance. I mate with him and discussed about my summer internship. Because he has good contacts of his batchmtes or his senior who is at higher post in any company or any organization. He assured me for getting summer internship and he told me that I send my CV to him for further consideration.

I had nice dinner with Ravish and then talked to Govind and he leaved me at IRMA gate . I  stayed at  Veterinary college where my friend Dinesh is studying. I got up at 10 AM and refresh and took lunch at Vaterinary college mess with Dinesh and moved towards for auto for Anand station. Dinesh leaved me at Veterinary college. I reached to Anand station at 1:25 PM but there was no train, even one passenger train was there but time was 2:45 PM. I thought that it is too late. Then one person (Pankaj Vyas, Unit Financial Controller) also asked to enquiry person but they also feel too late. He moved and then I asked him where is bus stand, he suddenly reply me that come in car I will also have to go at Ahmedabad through bus. I affraid  suddenly but I asked him what will be the fare, he told me free, come and sit. We reached old bus stand but there was no any bus for Ahmedabad. Again we moved to new bus stand where I got bus for Ahmedabad. 

We took seat in bus and talking to each other. His position is just below of GM of Five Star Hotel Company. He worked for Ruchi Soya Industries and also in Adani Wilmart as a senior executive post.  I discussed about my summer internship in these company then he assured me that he would send HR contacts to me.

He earned good salary but he is not satisfied with his life. They told me after long time in job, still I have no more saving. My father, mother, wife and a child are dependent on me. My child is studying in topmost school of Kota, Rajasthan. He told me that expense over my child from standard I to III is similar to my study i. e upto standard I to getting degree of MBA(Finance). Can you think? How education is costly? if we compare with present scenario. He told me that he spend 7-8 thousand per month for his son education who is studying in 8th standard. Life is so hectic. Whatever you earn, you expense in similar way to maintain status and other  life style. He was not happy form his job. He seen as a very stressed condition. He is just shifted from Kota to Ahmedabad. At Ahmedabad is too costly city in comparison to Kota. So he was asking me that what is the rent of flat in Ahmedabad. I told according to rent in Gandhinagar. I asked him about difference between government job and private job. He replied me that private job khoon choose leta hain ...bahut hi kaam karwata hain. Now he is thinking about to be a entrepreneur. He wants to establish good career of his son then he will move towards HIMALAYA and enjoy peace at that place. He gave me his own card and tell me that you email me regularly and I will sure reply.

Then finally I reached to Ahmedabad then I went to Chankhera where my friend (Rajesh) elder bother's is residing there. I got practical exposure of household management form Bhaiya-Bhabhi jee. He taught me a lot about life and panning for future that really impress me. His thought, behavior, mission as well as his great vision in his life that encourage me a lot. He is down to earth person. He started his life at zero level but now he is at good position is his company.I stayed at night and got up in the early morning and attended class at 8 AM on 8th March. at my sweet institute DA-IICT, Gandhinagar.

No body in this earth  is happy. Every body has some problem, some of them tells to others and some of them just digest himself. So life is struggle and it continued at last breath of life.

According to Prof. V.S.Dumra Sir, Traveling is the best university, it teaches lot of tolerance and become broad minded. From traveling we get contact of so many people and also interact with each other and share knowledge. I also learn decision making process as well as travel management while I am traveling.

Missing to attend convocation at BHU

Hi!

 When I was studying in bachelor degree at BHU then enthusiastically thought that I would also come to attend convocation similar to our seniors. Seniors enjoyed a lot during convocation because once again he got this opportunity at BHU to remind/revise his/her academic life.

On other hand, some of seniors did not come and attend convocation events. At that time I thought that why rest of seniors did not come. I thought, seniors forgot about BHU and do not want to come again. I was very emotional. Convocation itself a memorable event in whole education life, particularly at BHU, a world fame central university, world fame by place and historically too, world fame by Mahamana Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya jee (a great visionary), world fame by academic ambiance and world fame by all other things.

But now I realize that there are some circumstances that hinders certain things to do. There are lot of responsibility after bachelor degree because some one have to do assignment, project, presentation, hectic class for professional students and some one have hectic duty for company work. There is an example of IRMA, Aanand, if you missed a single class then you have to loss certain grade point. Long distance and train unavailability from BHU also hiders to missing convocation. 

In my case I am pursuing Master degree from Gandhinagar, Gujarat. I was determined that I whould have to attend convocation (as per university announced date 6-7th March)but when I plan and search train, I could not find returning journey train. Whatever train is available that takes 35-37hrs from Ahmedabad to Mughal Sarai that means 2 days for forward journey and 2 days for come back journey, total of 4 days to spend in train. Any way, other problem, I found train avialability after 3 days from fixed date of returning(Night journey on 7th March) and if I would delay 3 days to come at Gandhinagar, then I would have to  miss 2 assignment and one presentation. Each assignment and presentation have a certain grads. My class starts from monday(8th March).

Finally, I could not be going to attend convocation event and I feel very very sad.
